Topic: Producer from chicago now in lawrence... looking for help!
- Sep 27, 2008 10:17pm by SmokeyChuck
So I did 3 cuts on this guy Seel Fresh's album which will be released in October.
Hes pretty legit in the Chicago scene and I told him I'd help him book some shows out here either in KC or in Lawrence. Well I've barely left my college campus and havent networked with ANYBODY yet so I'm looking to start now.
His CD release party will have Vast Aire there, and hes performing with Kidz in the Hall and Murs a few days after so yeah, hes pretty legit.
Looking for anybody who can help me out! Holler!

Seel Fresh played the Brick a number of years ago.
I think he opened for Qwazzar or something like that.
He apologized for his set that night as other people apologized for the shitty turnout...hahaha
There is a serious slump in underground shows coming from state to state.
The last dope one was the Black Spade / Approach / Steady P show at MIKE's....
we need more shows like that!
who's gonna step up and put more stuff like that together?
I am assuming there are people out there who would stop complaining about how broke they are to come to a show...hahaha I KNOW there are...i've seen ya'll out there...do it!
i'm done with that...it's you all's turn now..haha

We brought Seel Fresh to the Peanut too back in '06.
Can't remember the name of the other guys he came with...
it was packed that night, but people didn't really seem to show
him much love. he was pretty good, though a little pretentious & cocky.
i hope he's been humbled a touch cause he definitely displayed potential.
affiliations don't have anything to do with legitimacy though.

I remember his music being about how bad his music was, which was pretty bad in and of itself. Like, "damn, man, you don't even like your music, why should I?!"
I'll peep the new shit with an open mind, though.

Yeah, I copped his album, I liked his stuff, it was different, and he did , in my humble opinion, have potential for sure.
Im breaking the CD out tonight to revisit it and see if I was tripping.
