Topic: Show-Me beatdown?

    Well I know i have posted this discussion before, but ... the people at 90.1 don't take me seriously about SHIT. So I was wondering, is their anybody around here that has more steez/is more prestigious than I, interested in starting the beat battle back up, who would talk to them? Cuz that show me beat down was some hot ish....but it stopped. anybody interested ?

    Why should someone need to be "prestigious" to give feedback? I thought it was a real cool deal and great for local artists- especially the kind that don't care about hanging out at bars all the time. The problem with the Beat Down could easily be the new/unheard artists stepping in and making the more social/active artists a little nervous and perhaps less "prestigious".

Because they really don't want to talk to the likes of DR.T. I've tried numerous times to get my stuff played on the show and just talk to them....all of which they turned down. And the only time I tried to perform live, they fuckin cut my mic off before I started. So thats no exposure. So I feel you on that man. Producers (no producer MCs, but just the beat-jockeys), don't get really all that much exposure. AND I HATE the fact that putting out an album is the only way a producer can get known around here. Because with beats, theres no fronting, if it's hot, people vote for you...if not, they vote for the other guy. example.... Lenny D is one of my favorite producers here in KC, but if Jo Schmo comes in and has a better beat, then Jo Schmo wins and BAM...suddenly everyone asks "Whos that guy that beat Lenny D in a beat battle" ..... and all that spells EXPOSURE! Helping out cats like you, me, JKR70 and who ever else just produces.

I know she can be reached through myspace and if you were to list how many beatmakers were down it might make it known there was support for it happening.

    Reach and I haven't ironed out the details or the judging system just yet, but we do have a date and the prize money...Peep game! September 19th at The Record Bar. Head to head producer battle. 500 bucks, winner take all. Just a heads up. More details within the month.

But I do know that she'll be taking a break from hosting the show for a while. I listened in last night to the Show Me Mix and it was totally different. PEACE
