Topic: Time out! Who hates Jews?

So I just got a really crazy anti-Semitic private message in my HHKC box.
I am Jewish, my grandmother narrowly escaped Poland with her life before WWII, and I've gone 27 years without ever having had these kinds of words directed at me. I visited Israel last year for the first time and am still sorting out what it all means to me. Overshare!
So getting this message gave me a really strange feeling. Some of you who have been unfortunate to experience being judged on similar, immutable facts about yourself might know the feeling I mean, and that doesn't say good things about 200-frickin'-8.
I know things get kind of heated on this board, and I know that I don't do much to cool things off when they do -- my personality is more likely to pour gasoline on the flames. I love to debate.
I just want to say that despite anything I might have said in my professional and personal writings, and regardless of the quick mini-beefs I may have encouraged in my professional and personal life, I've got love for each and every one of you on this board. We have more in common with each other than not.
So these debates about who is hip-hop and who isn't hip hop and who can't be hip-hop have got to go. I was told in that PM that I'm "pigmentally-challenged" but I know that color has never been a prerequisite to loving music.
And I know we can goof around and talk about hip-hop without leaping to the topic of who killed Jesus...right? Sheesh.

the person who made anti-semitic remarks to nadia is ignorant and that type of hate has no place on this board or in this scene. you know, it's fine if someone doesn't agree with what we write, but a personal attack takes it to another level. if someone doesn't like your music, they don't run around disrespecting you or putting you down. so don't do that to us. a lot of people disagree on things, but we all love the scene and support it, so if nothing else we should be able to respectfully disagree without taking it to religion, race, sex or anything like that. grow up. its absolutely unacceptable that anyone would make an anti-semitic remark to nadia because of a blog she wrote.

whoa, it's crazy how things escalate. i honestly have no idea how this fight started and look where it is now?! i guess this reveals how quickly we all can become like those what was it...uncivilized people rolling around in their own vomit
