This is the video for MIA's single "Paper Planes." I posted the mp3 of "Paper Planes" here on hiphopkc but no one replied. I even heard this song on a jukebox in Tulsa a few weeks back. She (MIA) specializes in a kind of world-ghetto-party-music steez. She's from Sri Lanka and a lot of her messages are about 3rd world country livin and global poverty and other realities. She even has a song on her latest album called "Bird Flu." This song is gonna be on a lot of people's lists as far as the best singles released this year. This ain't no super fast techno juke shit, either. It's sittin pretty at a comfortable 86 beats per minute.

And this is a blend that I found on another website that someone did with Paper Planes and something else. It's got vocal snippets from Biggie and E-40. You won't regret listening to it, I guarantee!!!!!!!!!!!

if anyone tells me that Bird Flu is not the best song on that album, i will fight them. i haven't even heard the whole thing, but there's no way it's not.

Bird Flu is sick, no pun intended...
It will tell you something about how raw her music is when the most commercial friendly song on the album has gun shots in the chorus ("Paper Planes" click on the above links already!!!!).
I nearly played "Paper Planes" the other night at the peanut, but a friend advised that I shouldn't because the gun shots would be too offensive.
I should grow some balls when it comes to DJing, I guess....lol

Yeah I 've been checking her out for th past year....her music is unique, but EXTREMELY catchy....I love it.

i'd ride with her to the end. i mean, i don't know her, but i get that impression. that's what made me start liking her, because i wasn't sure if i did at first.
she's high up in the running for people i'd make an album with if i had the chance to choose anyone.

Man....her music makes absolutely makes no sense and I can't understand half of what shes saying....but she is still one of the dopest musicians around!!!!
