everest, except i think they recently got bought by time warner...

Depends where you're at really. I was on Comcast and switched back to AT&T.
The main difference is the customer service for Comcast sucks really bad and luckily enough I got to talk to them a lot. Comcast was also "upgrading their servers" quite often....meaning it would go out on there end at least once a month.
With the AT&T (Southwestern Bell) the uploads and downloads are slightly slower, pages load pretty much the same (haven't noticed a difference in speed), it's quite a bit cheaper, and I haven't had to talk to customer service because it hasn't gone out.
Something else to look into if you are mobile a lot would be those pcmcia cards that the phone and cable companies have, and also some cell phone companies...my guess is the cell phone companies probably charge more, but it's worth checking out and is another option.

Not sure if Everest and Time Warner, but Time Warner and Comcast are buddies.

i heard about eversest regulating usesr to some extent...
basically.. I'm not feeling the slowly raising rate I've experienced since joining with them a few years ago. Looking for options.
I'd need cable/satellite.. no land line dsl providers
