Rap by Sia Barnes Producer Domingo, in association with online sound library www.Bangin-Beats.com is hosting a contest this December offering the best of untapped beat-making talent the opportunity to produce for hip hop legend Kool G. Rap. Though it is not guaranteed that Rap will use the winning beats, five chosen producers will have their music shopped directly to a network of industry veterans. "Domingo has been fam for years," says Bangin-Beats president Kirk Rothrum of the beatsmith who has produced for KRS One, Tony Yayo and Fat Joe, among others. "He's about as thorough as you can get." In addition to the winning five slots, other prizes include $50 Bangin-Beats soundware credits and a Battle King trophy. In related news, Grammy Award-winning producer Rockwilder (Jay-Z, Nas, 50 Cent, Lil' Kim, LL Cool J) is launching a website to offer his hit making beats to aspiring rappers and indie labels, for dirt cheap. The website, Rocbeats.com, will also feature a contest allowing underground and amateur producers the opportunity to win money including a $1 million production deal. Rocbeats.com pre-launches December 13 and officially goes online March 2006. The Domingo/Bangin-Beats contest begins December 8.
