I've been around for a long time, but I feel like I've never really been able to introduce myself. My name is Kory Pedersen and my music project is called Dropjaw. I live in Manhattan KS, but this site and scene is the closest to me. I have been to a few hip-hop events in KC and many in Lawrence. I was fairly active on the lawrence hiphop site back in the day. I am an emcee and I produce a little. I run a recording studio for the students at Flint Hills Job Corps as my way to give back to the hip-hop community. I have toured all around America and my ambition is to be a professional musician. As well as Dropjaw I am in a larger hip-hop crew based out of St. Louis called The Dead Republic. On this site I am interested in constructive and critcal dialouge about my music as well as a community to help find shows, beats, and friends that, get "hip-hop". I am also interested in finding some people who would like to donate beats for projects that my students are doing at the Job Corps. Please check out my music on my myspace and PM me any time. I LOVE THIS POSt.. probably especially enjoy it since i remember being in the shoes of some you who just want to be heard. Thats what it takes. I'm Miles Bonny, that's my real name. I tried Dino Jack Crispy first, but left it after I realized I'd want tons of names and it would get too confusing in time. I was born in NyC, Grew up in teaneck, NJ through High school, went to lawrence for college, moved to kc after. I feel like making beats is mainly what I'm known for around here, mainly involvement a group called "SoundsGood" from 2000-2006 with Joe Good, I was the producer/dj/hypeman/ etc. Since that time I've been DJing and singing alot.. about to get back into beats among other activities. I'm here to learn about what others are doing, how you are progressing and doing more than talking about what you want. Hola, Me name's Keef, Aka. Keith, aka DJ Keef: KC's Favorite Microwave DJ! I'm an Aries, I enjoy cup ramen, particulary Maruchan's Yakisoba; the roast chicken variety. Vary tasty. I'm a KC import out of everywhere but KC and happen to live down the street from Miles Bonny(Merriam, what?!) , but he don't know dat! I jack his beats and make flavored puft-corn cereal from 'em. Then, I sell 'em at the local grocer fro profit. You may have heard of em, they're called Jack'm's! Very delicious! I gig two regular places in KC, both of which are addicted to top 40 and I face a constant struggle in playing to the crowd, versus preaching to them what real soul and hip hop is about. Because of the internal eternal battle that it is, I don't enjoy music much anymore. Unless I'm stealing it to sell back to the kiddies! I've recently been getting into beat making for myself since the kids are tired of my recycled stolen flavors, but apparently I suck; Sku and Konsept weren't havin' it. I'm still workin' on that part of the game. If I was to describe myself for a dating service, I'd say I'm more "Six-Feet Deep" than I am "The 8 Diagrams." Less "American Gangster" and more "Uptown Saturday Night." A little bit of the Madlib Invasion with a twist of Paul Rodriguez II Nike SBs in a chilled glass of BBE. Yeah, that's what I'm about. Oh, and I have a 10 foot snake that eats crack babies and was born from a cup of radioactive jello pudding. It's name is Susan.

I stumbled across this site a bit ago and I have no idea why I didn't check more into this then. I am a new member as of yesterday. I'd call myself a visual artist I suppose. Been doodling since I can remember. Leaving art to be my passion, I got into hip hop culuture and became an appriciator of the music scene while in hair school out in Lawrence. My best girlfriend hooked me up with some local stuff and then I was hooked. I'm back in KC working now, but I'd like to dig deeper into the scene as well as hopes of picking up some tips and tricks from writers in the area. sup yaw, the names Shempain aka Shawn Shotzawiski an Im from Milwaukee,WI. Been out ta K.C. last summer on a tour i was on wit my group, KingHellBastard(myspace.com/kinghellbastard). We played at the Peanut bar on a Wednsday nite in Aug. It was pourin ass rainin outside but people still came out. We got fed(best wings ever!), got paid, an got 3 cases of beer from the owner, made some new friends, Jen Brown at the HipHop Hotel(thanks fer lettin us crash at the pad sista), it was fresh. My friend touched on some girls boob(not Jen Brown) an bragged about it the rest of our tour. All in all I can say my first experience in K.C.was aiiight. We currently settin up a tour that starts May 7th an goes thru May 31st. We may be in town again if all works out, we play St Louis on May 29th an workin on playin in K.C. on wed the 28th if all works out. eff it, im blabbin! Its nice ta be a part of a new board, im on a few an i have alot of time ta kill at work, actin like im workin, haha. Im the village idiot, I talk shit when its deserved, sometimes Im pompous, I drink alot but Im Irish so its in my blood, Im a productive member of society but I think Ima bum, I like livin in Milwaukee cuz its so underrated, Im here an Ima make my presence know, I am hiphop! see yaw in the matrix HALLUH!

Well I guess I should formally introduce my self. My name is James Paul and Wichita, KS is where I call home. I started producing tracks in high school and that sparked my creativity into recording and singing. I released my first self produced album, "A Short Story" in Summer '05.( Hadn't sang for anyone until 6 months prior... big accomplisment) Soon after an emcee called Reach( u might know him) got in touch with me to come and sing on some tracks for his up and coming album with Twelve... Corner Speech. I got to meet Approach and had a blast in the studio awaiting reactions to the white guy singing...lets just say it went over well. I have just released my new album... James Paul "Expression". This one is also self produced. This album has been a few years coming but its done. Im excited to see what happens with the album. Thats my introduction. Whats Good KC. This is Mr Luna. Representing 1/4 of The EMPIRE. Ive been knowin some of you cats for a minute. As ive been on the same grind as you have been for over a dime now. I started out with my Homeboy and producer SG. Who learned from the homies Icy Rocc and Jocc Max....so..cut from the same cloth. In the past..ive been blessed enough to run in the same circles as the Greats. Heet Mob( WHAT UP TOMMY!!!)..Veteran Click..ILLco ...DVS midz. And in the course...i grew with Grant Rice - Panic and SG to form EMPIRE. Before that....i was in a group w Grant called NETWORK. And with Joe Vertigo in the group VERTIGO. Yeah....Grant and I used to go down to the MARDI GRAS (what u know bout that?) and shit....lol...we'd blow they minds and shit. Cause we were the only mexicans to rip on them shits....lol. Good times. I love creating and seeing (hearing) the end result...youknowhatimsayin? Theres nothing like puttin them words together to a backdrop of delicious drums - strings -and whatever instrument you can conjure up in preproduction....the process in like nothing else man. Anyways... EMPIRE released and saw success with our 1st release CROWNED. Toured and shit. And to date...still get spins west of Denver to L.A. We workin on side projects now. And were recently nominated for a Pitch Music award. (what up Reach) And have a few new joints available on myspace.com/lunatik816 to listen to. Unfortunatley....the homie SG relocated to Dallas( AAAAaaaiiiiiieeeee!!!)...for how long?? dunno...BUT.We still recieve beats via E-mail and shit....so. Yeah...we still dangerous....lol. Panic is working on his 2nd solo project.Same with Grant....and myself. Im also lookin to collab with artists outta our city. My name is Brandon Draper. moved to KC in 2006 from New Mexico. I went to school for drums and world percussion. been playing in bands and touring since I was 14, dad plays a mean Hammond B3. Started working with DJs in NM and playing with beats, been recording since childhood. probably known more for being a jazz drummer but like to push the limits and get into hip hop and break beats. love broken beats. I play the jazz and poetry jam every 3rd thurs. at the Blue Room. Met Miles Bonny, John Brewer, Lenny D, etc. joined INnate sounds. Played live with DJ Kiko for a few years-project called Vinylive with John Brewer on Keys. Went off with John and made Organic Proof. All duo, I'm playing drums, bass, tons of world percussion and live looping it-making beats on the fly. I'm really digging the energy in KC from the folks that are ALIVE! and making progress. Just finally joined hiphopkc, after the last show I did with LennyD. I got tired of not having my shit together electronically, still working on that. Hey hows every body doing, my name is matt sears, 17years old born in kcmo raised in wyandotte county. currently live in overland park, cant wait to get the fuck out of here. i love music, but hip hop has a special place within me. nas's "it was written" made me want to start rapping. I dont listen to that bullshit on the radio, i mostly listen to classic rock like 101 the fox and shit. been trying to be a stand up comic ever since i first heard eddie murphy when i was 10 years old. im also interested in fighting, boxing MMA, all that shit always ready to scrap. not a hot head just like to throwdown. i just enjoy entertaining, love music cooking, living life. had a baby brother born 4/24/08, i fuckin spoiled that shit out of him already. i love him to death. live with moms, very lovely lady. thats about it for me.

Hey all. I have been visting this site for awhile now. I am just getting around to posting though. My name is McD, and I rap. I work with Wurm. We have had a few shows in and around KC. In fact, there is one on March 28, 2009. Check the events board for more info. Currently, we are working on Wurm's album, [i:b255641fb5]Music Movements[/i:b255641fb5]. It will feature Wurm, me, and Kitten. Hopefully, this summer I will have my own mixtape. Wurm produces beats, but I am always looking for some more. I can't wait to meet all of you, and collaborate. I would say my strength is in performing live. I am always down to do a live show. I don't care about getting paid for any of this rap shit. I want to party and perform. That's pretty much my goal.

What's good Everybody??? This is Meach and I'm a emcee/songwriter out of Central California. I've been lookin for a site like this for a hot Min now and I'm glad I found it. Like many of us, hip hop and myself has had a long love affair. I'm product of the NWA/Tha Click/Death Row era. I've always wrote rhymes and spit for the homies goin back to grade school and I just recently got into performing. In fact the first time I performed live was out in KC(gotta love the hiphop heads out here). As a Cali boy I've always got them lame ass "You know Mac Dre" questions and is CA and KC funkin? Stuff like that. But I will say and always say, "Bitch if you didn't know, KC is tha Town - Yada Whoa" So I'm lookin for a DJ, Beatmakers and anyone interested creating some more than some of the stuff of the airwaves(Fuck tha radio -cept that Magic 107.3).
