Innate Sounds Crew is an assembly of Kansas City’s finest DJs, rappers, producers, and musicians. The crew includes Miles Bonny, John Brewer, Reggie B, Joc Max, beatbroker, Leonard D Stroy, Surgeon General, Stik Figa, Smoov Confusion, Gene Connor, CES Cru, Joe Good, Phase One, and others. Miles Bonny shed some light on the crew’s aspirations.

Miles Bonny: We are a collective of artists who respect each other and believe that our music and creations need to be shared with each other and our respective fans. There are many talented people in Kansas City. There is also a lack of pride and confidence attributed to living here. Living here should not be a boundary, but an opportunity. We want people to be proud of the great things that exist, and hopefully our music is considered one of those things.

Bonny: I have worked with all of these individuals separately. They all knew of each other, but weren't necessarily collaborating. These are all talented artists with a strong work ethic who have similar taste in music. Yet, with our diversity, everyone's style and abilities have proven to mesh as an astounding whole.
[b:4edce73f7f]PRESENT: What does Innate Sounds offer with its music?[/b:4edce73f7f]
Bonny: We spread the sounds of each artist, and provide a strong alternative to the repetitive nonsense that the radio stations get paid to play. That music is not for the people who listen to it; it is for those commercial entities to continue to brainwash the public. There are other alternatives worth listening to, and Innate Sounds provides you with music you will connect with and stay with.
[b:4edce73f7f]PRESENT: The crew has a wide range of styles and sounds. Tell us about what some of the members bring to the mic.[/b:4edce73f7f]
Bonny: On the jazz side, we have pianist and composer John Brewer, I play a lil’ trumpet and make beats and sing. Reggie B also sings and he is AMAZING. We have other producers like Joc Max, beatbroker, Leonard D Stroy, and Surgeon General. The rappers of the crew are Stik Figa, Smoov Confusion, Gene Conner, CES Cru ( Ubiquitous and Godemis), Joe Good, Phase One, and more. Overall, our sound encompasses hip hop, soul, R&B, and jazz mainly. It is always developing, so it will be fun to see how things develop. There is no set plan, only talent, drive, and progress.
