This event will be part of a series of anti-war events happening in Lawrence and KC to commemorate the 4th anniversary of the invasion of Iraq. More info:
Monday March 19, 2007 marks four years of occupation of Iraq by United States Armed Forces. On this day people across the world will mobilize to show opposition to the continued costly occupation.
In Lawrence, Kansas Mutual Aid, the Lawrence Coalition for Peace and Justice, the KC Iraq Task Force, the 69th Street Patriots, and others are calling for a day of action to mark this anniversary. We are calling on all those outraged by the war to converge on Veteran's Park at 19th and Louisiana Streets at noon on Monday March 19th for a rally and march to the Military Recruitment Centers located on 23rd and Louisiana.
Speakers at the rally will include Carl Webb, a GI resister and member of Iraq Veterans Against the War, Lexi Welch, a high school student and filmmaker working against the No Child Left Behind Act and military recruitment at LHS, and others working against the occupation of Iraq.
Join us Monday March 19th at noon at Veteran's Park in Lawrence!
This event will be one of many events happening from March 14th-March 24th in opposition to the war. Other events include:

7pm at Liberty Hall (644 Mass St) Tribal Vision will be screening the documentary:
"Weapons of Mass Deception" in the main theater. $2 to cover theater rental costs and to benefit the Films for Action TV campaign.
Friday March 16th
7pm at the Solidarity Center (1109 Mass Street in downtown Lawrence)
"Rock Against the Occupation" music benefit for local anti-war organizations
featuring The Last Tyrant and Coat Party
Sunday March 18th
KC Day of Action Against the Occupation
Meet at 1 pm at Penn Valley Community College for a memorial service and preparation of vehicles for a peace caravan to the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant. More info: http://www.kciraqtaskforce.org/
