Circo's a friend of the family. my mom was her campaign treasurer. she comes from a long line of independence democrats (the Baker family).

she's got the endorsement of just about everything besides Freedom, Inc. and while i generally respect Freedom, Inc. and take their picks in consideration, i can tell you they only picked Michael Brooks because he's black and the pastor of a large black church. Circo lost a lot of votes in predominately black areas, probably because of that and because people recognize the Brooks name (though he's not related to Alvin Brooks). However, Brooks has not campaigned at all, and hasn't shown up to key meetings for the candidates. For example, he was supposed to attend a debate, but sent a representative, which is not allowed. Brooks is a church pastor and the representative said that he couldn't come because of church activities and that his church came first... he also failed to submit his campaign finance reports.
so basically, Brooks hasn't really done much at all to show his dedication to this position besides get on the ballot, and from the looks of it, he's not even going to show up at work since he's busy with his position as pastor.
