Graf Artists Cause 30Gs Worth of Damage at Scribble Jam

Graffiti artists went outside the borders of Scribble Jam again this year, causing an estimated $30,000 worth of damage to property citywide, officials with Keep Cincinnati Beautiful said.
The festival just wrapped up its tenth annual event and draws national recognition to its celebration of hip-hop culture, including exhibitions featuring spray paint graffiti.
This year, the city beefed up the number of officers on patrol during the weekend, and motion cameras were moved to "hot spots" to deter graffiti vandalism. Officials say the motion cameras were effective in their designated areas, which remained graffiti free.
University Heights was hit hardest during this weekend's festival, and residents woke up Sunday morning to find Calhoun and McMillan streets covered with graffiti tags.
