“GET THE VOTE OUT!” RALLY & CONCERT TO BE PRESENTED AT FREEDOM FOUNTAIN
KANSAS CITY, Mo, August 29, 2004--- The Reginald Gibson Memorial Foundation for Education will present “Get the Vote Out!” Rally & Concert on Sunday, September 26, 2004. This will take place at “Freedom Fountain,” located at the Brush Creek Amphitheater, Emanuel Cleaver II Boulevard and Cleveland Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri from 1:00 until 8:00 p.m...
This non-partisan event will offer voter registration, dynamic speakers, and fantastic entertainment. There will be dance, spoken word and music, including a special memorial tribute to international super star Bob Marley. Health U.S.A will provide a moonwalk for children along with treats. There will be vendors, concessions, and information booths. There is no charge for this event.Reginald Gibson Memorial Foundation
“Get The Vote Out!” Rally & Concert is sponsored by the Reginald Gibson Memorial Foundation for Education. This not-for-profit organization was founded nearly twenty years ago by Rhonda M. “Kaya” Gibson as a memorial tribute to her husband, Reginald J. Gibson. Its’ mission is to educate and to provide cultural development. The Foundation is an advocate for the arts, youth development and training vis-ŕ-vis its “Hiring the Heritage” program. The Foundation has presented numerous cultural exchanges, art exhibits, youth performances and workshops at its headquarters, the Kings & Queens Heritage Center.
Executive Director, Kaya, states: “Our priority is the well-being of the people. The Reginald Gibson Memorial Foundation for Education wants to educate, enlighten and empower. Our purpose in sponsoring “Get the Vote Out!” Rally & Concert is to address a very important issue—the need to not only register, but to actually vote! We want to address this serious issue in a festive, fun and entertaining way.”
