Not in Kansas City Missouri/Kansas.

kool herc started throwing parties at a community center(sedgewick i think) on the west side of the bronx in 1973 with two turntables a mixing board(not a mixer) and a mic with an echo box and guitar amps for speakers. it was mainly graff artists and b-boys in the crowd, and it wasnt till a year or so later that the dj's started "looping" breaks from record to record. But that was the start of hip hop. i'm Know there were parties before and besided that one but there ya go. here some more trivia for you.... you gotta research the answer.... who was the first person to record a full length hip hop album on a major label? and what single got them the deal?

I'm talking about MCing, DJing, Producing, beatmaking, Graffing, or Breaking...

Pretty much anything besides JUST listening....

I started HUMAN CROPCIRCLES with my brother Hex in 1999.
But have listened since the late 70s, my DADS best friend was a DJ back then so my DAD got all the pre releases, I owe a lot of my musical tastes to my DAD and him.
